ORTHOTIC Project (Horizon Europe / NEMO 2nd Open Call Initiative)
Development of an AIoT-enabled 3D-printed custom foot-splint integrating edge computing and a VR digital twin for personalized rehabilitation and monitoring.
Key outcomes from ORTHOTIC (such as firmware and continuous integration pipelines) directly support future developments, advancing intelligent assistive technologies with strong social impact.
eXRercise Project (Horizon Europe / MASTER 1st Open Call Initiative)
The eXRercise Training System advances safety training in high-risk industrial environments by combining Large Language Models (LLMs), Extended Reality (XR), and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
Trainers can create realistic XR training content through natural language prompts, while biometric data from IoT wearables (e.g., heart rate, stress levels) are analyzed to dynamically adapt scenarios in real time, ensuring responsive and personalized learning experiences.
By consolidating these results, eXRercise delivers an immersive, adaptive training ecosystem aligned with Industry 4.0, enabling safe, effective preparation for high-risk interventions.
Within this area, our research includes the design and implementation of intelligent algorithms and routing protocols tailored for autonomous vehicles and mobile devices, for example, algorithms designed to assist self-driving cars in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs).
The overarching goal is to push the boundaries of technology in networked autonomous systems, enhancing efficiency, adaptability, and functionality across diverse operational environments while driving innovation in intelligent ad-hoc communication and multi-domain coordination.
